Q. What identification do I need??
A. We ask for formal photo identification, like an Australian Driver’s License or a current passport. After your identity has been established,
Coastal Storage Units will walk you through the self storage process. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Q. What is self storage??
A. Coastal Storage Units offer flexible, do-it-yourself storage for domestic and business customers. Your storage unit is locked with your own padlock (a full range is sold in our reception), ensuring that only you have access to your goods. Access to your storage unit is free and unlimited during our long opening hours, 7 days a week. However, if this is not convenient, we also offer 24hr storage units. Please call for further details and availability.
Coastal Storage Units is a cost effective alternative to achieve any additional space requirement.
Q. How do I know what size storage unit I need??
A. Coastal Storage Units have a wide variety of shapes and sizes in terms of both square metres and volume. So you have 2 options:
1) Please talk to our experienced friendly staff and they will help and advise you on the most suitable unit size, or

Q. What security do the units have??
A. Coastal Storage Units are individually alarmed and have security perimeter fencing and electronic access controlled gates. Our site is well lit with 24 hr digital CCTV coverage offering state of the art security. With
Coastal Storage Units, peace of mind comes as standard. Your property will be safe.
Q. What are your terms??
A. We send out your invoice 10 days in advance of when your storage is due. Payment is due on the 1st day of each month.
Q. What about transport and moving??
A. You are responsible for transporting and moving your goods to our storage centres. We do have a truck and trailer available which are free to use when moving in and out.
Q. Does the van have insurance? ?
A. Insurance for the use of our van is mandatory. The incidental cost of insurance is $100 (conditions apply).
Q. What can I store in household storage??
A. You can store virtually anything however there are a few items which are prohibited. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: living creatures, flammable materials, firearms, toxic waste and illegal substances.
Q. What about student storage??
A. Short-term storage is a great idea for students and Coastal Storage Units have a variety of units so students can find the perfect size for them.
Q. Where can I get packaging material??
A. Coastal Storage Units has a wide range of moving and packing supplies. We can also provide great tips and insight on how to get the most from your storage space.
Q. Do you have a mail service??
A. Dependability! There is no need to worry about misdirection of your mail.Coastal Storage Units is open to receive your mail. Your own secure mailbox allows you to pick up your mail when it’s convenient for you.
Q. Is the building pest controlled??
A. Yes, we have a professional Pest Control company that conducts a routine check and control programme implementation, providing us with updated reports.
Q. Is the space air conditioned??
A. No, however our building has been constructed to the highest standards, which includes insulation, concrete panelled outer walls and specially architected ventilation – all of which provide a cool internal environment as opposed to temperature controlled.
Q. Can I store small items??
A. Yes, from as little as $2 per day depending on your needs. Coastal Storage Units offer a cost effective solution to meet every storage requirement with unit sizes ranging from 1m2 up to 26m2.
Q. How long can I store my belongings??
A. You may store your items as long as you wish. You are billed each month in advance for as long as you use the unit. However only 7 days’ notice is required to vacate the unit. *Minimum period is one month
Q. When can I gain access to my belongings??
A. We offer unlimited access to your belongings during our opening times so you can add and remove items as much as you need to. Access during office hours is included, and if you require access outside of normal business hours please talk to our friendly staff.
Q. Is self storage expensive??
A. Costs can be as little as $2 per day. Depending on your needs, there is a cost effective solution to your additional space requirements. All units are between 2.4 and 3m high, so stacking your storage items up to 3m allows you to select the most efficient unit size, saving you money.
Q. What about insurance??
A. Coastal Storage Units offers optional insurance cover for your goods at extremely competitive rates. Please ask our friendly staff for more information and pricing.
Q.How do I pay for my storage??
A. We accept major credit cards (Mastercard and Visa), direct debit, cheque and cash, however the easiest form of payment is automatic credit card payments, which we setup at the start. There are no fees for using a credit card.

That means that you can add and remove your items in the comfort of an undercover loading bay, protecting your items and yourself from direct sunlight, rain and wind.
Q. What can I store in business storage??
A. Only your imagination limits your storage possibilities. Archive file, merchandise, stock and promotional material are some examples of items for which businesses use Coastal Storage Units.
Q. Do you require me to pack my goods before storage??
A. Coastal Storage Units recommend that you pack your goods in strong boxes. This makes stacking easier and avoids damage to your goods whilst also making the most of the space in the room. However, you do not need to have your goods in boxes. A dust cover is a good idea and soft furnishings should have some type of protection.
Q. How much notice do I need to give to move out??
A. We require a 7 days written notice that you will vacate your unit. However if your plans change you can extend this period and continue paying your rental.
Q. When can I pickup mail from my personal Mailbox?
A. During normal business hours, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm, your mail is available for collection FREE of charge.
Q. Do the units have power??
A. All units 15m2 or above in size have individually lighting controls and there are power points at strategic points in the corridors. There are no individual power points in the units, but this can be arranged if required. Terms and conditions apply.
